House Rules & Living Expectations
1. Respect and Community
Residents are expected to treat others with kindness and respect at all times. Verbal, physical, or emotional abuse, harassment, or discrimination of any kind is strictly prohibited. Maintaining a peaceful community is everyone’s responsibility.
2. Quiet Hours
To ensure a calm environment, quiet hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. During this time, noise should be minimized in both private and common areas.
3. Cleanliness and Maintenance
Residents are responsible for keeping their rooms and personal spaces clean. Common areas, including kitchens, bathrooms, and lounges, must be kept tidy after use. Mercy’s Care staff will assist with regular maintenance and cleaning schedules.
4. Safety and Security
All residents must comply with safety guidelines, including proper use of locks, smoke detectors, and emergency procedures. Visitors must be approved and signed in at the front desk. Unauthorized entry or unsafe behavior is not allowed.
5. Personal Responsibility
Residents are responsible for their personal belongings, daily routines, and adherence to house policies. Participation in maintaining a structured environment is expected to support everyone’s success.
6. Substance Use Policy
The use of illegal substances or misuse of prescription medications on the property is strictly prohibited. Alcohol consumption is permitted only in designated areas and under clear guidelines. Compliance with this policy ensures the safety and well-being of all residents.
7. Conflict Resolution
Residents are encouraged to address conflicts respectfully and calmly. Staff members are available to mediate and provide guidance when needed. Maintaining open communication fosters a supportive community.
8. Participation in Community Life
Residents are encouraged to engage in house activities, meetings, and community events as a way to build connections and support personal growth. Participation is optional but highly recommended.
9. Compliance with Rules
Failure to follow house rules may result in warnings or, in repeated cases, reevaluation of residency. Mercy’s Care staff work with residents to provide guidance and support before any decisions are made.
